The General Services Administrative (GSA) of the federal government is decreasing the reimbursement rate from 54 cents to 53.5 cents per mile for use of privately owned automobiles when authorized as advantageous to the government. The GSA rate is used as the mileage reimbursement rate for much state of Connecticut collective bargaining units, and UConn Health. The mileage rate decrease is effective for travel on or after January 4, 2017 for employees using personally owned vehicles for official state or UConn Health business.
The mileage rate for moving has changed as well to 17 cents per mile effective January 1, 2017.
