Biomedical Engineering Discovery Saturday Program
Is your child between the ages of 13 and 16? Is your child interested in science, technology, engineering and/or math (STEM)? Does your child enjoy building things and working with his or her hands? Are you interested in taking your child’s budding curiosity to the next level? If yes, then your child can participate in a Biomedical Engineering (BME) Discovery Program on Saturday, October 1, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at UConn Health in Farmington (drop off/pickup at Main Building Academic Entrance). The topic for this session is: Building a Hydraulic Arm.
Guided by current health professions students and educators, your child will explore career pathways into BME and other health professions, learn about BME application in health care, and engage in a hands-on exploration of engineering by building a hydraulic arm. The cost of attendance is $59 and each student will be provided with a light breakfast snack, lunch and a Pitsco Education hydraulic arm (valued at $35+) to build and take home.
