  • Summer Fellowship Program- App Deadline 3/1

Do you want to spend your summer working on a business you created?  How about receiving up to a $15,000 award to go towards your business, $5,000 of which you can elect to take as a scholarship?

CCEI is currently accepting applications for the 2018 cohort of the Summer Fellowship Program. The Summer Fellowship Program was created to leverage core competencies of UConn faculty and students, draw on the knowledge of community business leaders and stakeholders, and support entrepreneurs in the process of developing the infrastructure and partnerships needed to launch their businesses.  The goal of the Summer Fellowship program is to help aspiring entrepreneurs move out of the conceptual stage of venture development, and into the marketplace.

We accept the top ten startups from across the University to participate in this intense 8 week program.  Teams participate 3 days a week for about 6 hours a day developing skills needed to bring new products and technologies to market and receiving one-on-one coaching from industry experts.  Each team is provided with $15,000, and have the option to take up to a $5,000 scholarship to pay an undergraduate or graduate student to participate in the program.  Our teams in the past have found this option helpful in that a member of their team could use this experience as a paid summer internship and continue to move their business idea forward.

At the end of the Summer Fellowship Program, the top 5 teams are selected to move forward to the Wolff New Venture Competition in which the teams will pitch to receive an additional $15,000.

The application deadline for the Summer Fellowship Program is March 1.  More information about the program and the application can be found at https://ccei.uconn.edu/programs/summer-fellowship/
