  • 3/5 NY Times Sportswriter Who Covered Winter Olympics

New York Times sports writer Karen Crouse, just back from covering the 2018 Winter Olympics, will talk about telling athletes' stories and discuss her new book, NORWICH, a look at how a small town in Vermont has excelled at turning out Olympic athletes while discovering the secret of raising happy and joyful children. Covering the Olympics in South Korea, Crouse has written about how U.S. Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon starved himself while training, a hidden problem in male figure skating. Crouse also spent time with ex-skater-turned-TV-commentator Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski. She also covered snowboarder Shaun White's gold-medal performance and the U.S. women's hockey team as it played Canada for the gold.

Crouse is an award-winning sports writer with the New York Times. She has covered the Olympics, the NFL, Major League Baseball and the PGA tour. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California.

Crouse will speak in the Konover Auditorium at the Dodd Center from 12:20 to 1:35 p.m. Admission is free. Afterwards, she will sign copies of her book, which will be for sale in the lobby.
