Are you a civil engineering student who wants to learn modelling software and building construction planning skills? UConn's EERI (Earthquake Engineering Research Institute) Seismic Design Team is looking for members of all skill levels interested in utilizing CAD software and their engineering background to design a multi-story, balsa wood building model that is optimized to resist earthquake ground motions. Members will be able to develop a proficiency in using programs such as AutoCAD and SAP2000, and will be part of an iterative, hands-on building experience in the structures lab.
