  • 3/2 The Campaign School for Social Workers

Welcome back for the spring semester and happy new year! It is our hope that you are well rested, recharged and ready to jump head first into your 2018 agendas. We are reaching out to encourage your attendance at the Campaign School for Social Workers on March 2-3rd in Hartford, CT at the Lyceum.

As we have learned in the aftermath of the 2016 election, we cannot afford to take our democratic processes for granted, and as social workers we have the education, knowledge and a diverse skill set that qualify us for running and leading as elected officials.

The Campaign School is for anyone who wants to learn more about politics--not just for those focusing in “macro practice.” Social work is a political profession, and as social workers we have a commitment to fighting and working against systemic injustices that have negatively impacted our clients, communities, and often our own families. Even if you do not intend to run for elected office, knowing more about our political system can prove invaluable to your education, career, and impact as a social worker.

There will be a networking reception immediately following training on Day One with elected officials and political social workers. Details of the reception will follow at a later date.
