Wall 12-Month Calendar of Himalayan Portfolios On Sale At The Benton

These intriguing landscape photographs of Kenneth Hanson’s exploration of near inaccessible landscape and culture illuminate the starkly beautiful but often inhospitable Himalayan regions. He dramatically immortalizes the breathtaking beauty and remote wilderness of one of the planet’s last untamed frontiers. These glorious, panoramic black-and-white images are the remarkable result of a dedicated and passionate fascination with the history and vistas of the Himalayas.  The stunning photographs illustrate the Himalayas as an enduring emblem of man’s ultimate challenge in nature. The photographs were taken using an old fashioned 4x5 Toyo large format view camera mounted on a sturdy wooden tripod.

These photographs form part of over 100 black-and-white photographs in Hanson’s book, Himalayan Portfolios; Journeys of the Imagination published by Fields Publishing in 2009.

Ken Hanson has had his work shown at The Homer Babbidge Library, The Paul Mellon Arts Center, Atlantic Film Works, The Jorgensen Gallery, Pfizer National Headquarters, and The William Benton Museum of Art.
