Join the movement and become certified in Mental Health First Aid!
Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour certification training to teach participants how to help someone who is experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. Like "CPR for the mind", you will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to someone when they show signs of a mental health struggle or substance use disorder. A list of shareable resources for professional, peer, social, and self-help care is provided.
The course is hosted by Sigma Theta Alpha, UConn's professional, co-ed healthcare fraternity, and will be a taught by a representative from Mental Health Connecticut. We are very fortunate to take this course at no cost.
The course takes place on November 10th (1:30 to 5:30) and November 17th (1:00 to 5:00). Attendance at both sessions is mandatory to complete the certification.
Please reserve your spot in the course here.
