    Protecting the Creative Spirit: The Law and the Arts    FINA 3710.001 (class # 15085)

    The law and business practices that affect and protect careers in the arts. No background necessary. Topics include national and international copyright law, trademarks, licensing and contract negotiations in addition to rights of privacy and publicity.

    Practical, real-life assignments include registering a trademark, submission of a copyright registration, completing a bill of sale, contract negotiations, and an afternoon consulting UConn Law students. This is what you need to know to succeed as an arts professional!

    Three credits. Tuesdays 3:35-6:05pm.  Storrs Campus. (Room TBA)
