    Public Notice

    The UConn Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as it seeks reaccreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).  

    As part of the on-site assessment, members of the public and employees are invited to offer their comments at a public information session at the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center, Konover Auditorium, 405 Babbidge Road, Unit 1205 Storrs, CT, on October 31st, 2017 between 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. If for some reason an individual cannot speak at the Public information session but would like to provide comments, they may do so by telephone. The public may call 860-486-5196 or 860-486-5183 on Tuesday, October 31st, 2017, between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

    Telephone comments during the call-in period are limited to ten minutes and must address the UConn Police Department’s ability to comply with Commission Standards. A viewing of the standards is available at the UConn Police Department headquarters located at 126 North Eagleville Road, Storrs.

    Anyone who would like to submit written comments about the UConn Police Department’s ability to meet the Standards for reaccreditation may send them to:

    The UConn Police Department’s policies have to comply with CALEA standards in order to obtain reaccreditation. The reaccreditation process has been helpful in continuing the professionalism of the department.
