    UConn Winter in Israel: Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship

    Are you interested in entrepreneurship, innovation, and/or venture capital? Learn about it all through a dynamic study abroad experience, while earning 3 academic credits during Winter Session 2018!

    Israel is consistently ranked one of the most innovative and entrepreneurial countries in the world, despite being a tiny country with enormous challenges. 

    Students will have the opportunity to meet with business, scientific, and academic leaders in Israel.  We will visit high tech enterprises, venture capital investors, technology accelerators, academic institutions, and government offices.

    Of course, we will also visit many of Israel’s historic sites, float in the Dead Sea, and spend time immersing ourselves in Israel’s culture. From the Old City of Jerusalem to the Mediterranean Sea and modern city of Tel Aviv.

    Highlights of this study abroad program include:

    • Pre-departure lectures covering business; entrepreneurship; technology; intellectual property; commercialization; history, geography, politics, and government of Israel
    • Visits to Israeli universities, entrepreneurial accelerators and venture capital firms
    • Visits with Israeli entrepreneurs 
    • Tours of international high tech firms in Israel such as Google or Facebook
    • Friday night Shabbat dinner with high-tech entrepreneurs
    • Meet leaders of the Israeli startup scene, including leading accelerator programs
    • Visit important cultural and historic sites in Jerusalem, Masada, and Dead Sea area
