Do you have experience working with the elderly population? Or do you have an interest to build meaningful connections with senior citizens? Generations Connect is a semester long service program that allows UConn students to volunteer with residents of Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation as well as Mansfield Senior Center. Volunteers at MCNR participate in arts and crafts, holiday-themed parties and cognition-strengthening games planned by the recreational directors. Volunteers at the Senior Center are given the opportunity to plan recreational activities performed by the senior citizens who visit the senior center. Program days include Mondays 2:00-4:00, Tuesdays 2:15-4:00, Tuesdays 1:00-3:00 and Fridays 11:00-12:00. Participants commit to one of these times and are expected to attend weekly. Transportation is provided!
