UCAELI is seeking volunteers to meet with international English language students during the Fall session. Our Conversation Partner program aims to help build the English spoken interaction skills of our adult learners.
Conversation Partner volunteers visit our Communication Skills classes on Fridays and engage students in discussions or activities planned by the instructors. This is an excellent opportunity to meet people from other cultures, hear their points of view, and share your best advice for adjusting to college life. No teaching experience is necessary; an interest in an international community and speaking proficiency in English are all that are required!
UCAELI Conversation Partner Program details:
When: Fridays from 11-12pm, September 8th through December 8th. Conversation Partners are also invited to join our midsession social event on October 27th and the graduation ceremony on December 15th.
Where: UCAELI classrooms on the Storrs campus. Room assignments will be sent out following the completion of an application (see below).
