  • 5/22 Chimney Swift Conservation Night at Willibrew

Have a beer for the birds! Join researchers from UConn's Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for the 5th Annual Chimney Swift Conservation Night at the Willimantic Brewing Co. The Brewery will be tapping Flying Cigar Ale, brewed only once per year for this special event, and donating a portion of the proceeds from each one sold to the conservation effort for chimney swifts. During this family friendly event, swift researchers will be sharing fun facts about chimney swifts, and how to help them, in the dining room and tap room from 6 p.m. to about 7:40 p.m. Free guided tours to the Nathan Hale roost and the adjacent Town Hall roost will occur at approximately 7:40 pm. You’ll be able to witness the wonderful spectacle of hundreds of chimneys swifts ‘tornadoeing’ into two of the state’s largest summer roosts. This event fills FAST; make dinner reservations today at 860-423-6777.
