UConn Wind Ensemble’s Urban Neighborhoods
UConn’s Wind Ensemble will present their original Urban Neighborhoods at the von der Mehden Recital Hall, beginning at 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 20. This emotive concert utilizes substantial musical and instrumental diversity to address significant issues associated with race, heritage, and injustice, particularly in urban American communities. By incorporating unique traditional instruments, tempos, and styles, as well as potentially unfamiliar cultural origins, Urban Neighborhoods is sure to elicit powerful emotions and inspiration through its evocative and masterful direction.
Tickets can be purchased at vdm.ticketleap.com. General admission is $10 and free for children and students. UConn’s von der Mehden Recital Hall is located at 875 Coventry Rd in Storrs, across from Mirror Lake. Plenty of free, well-lit parking is available just across the street.
