  • 4/12 Take Back The Night 2017

    Time: 7-11pm

    Place: Student Union Ballroom

Take Back the Night is an annual event held each April as part of UConn's observation of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The event seeks to raise awareness about gender-based violence affecting members of our community and promote victim/survivor empowerment and healing.

The evening begins with a short program in the Student Union Ballroom where invited speakers and performers highlight the importance of community investment in this issue.

From there, attendees will be invited to participate in a candlelight march through campus and the evening will conclude with a victim/survivor speak-out. During this time, members of our community will have the opportunity to share their personal stories related to gender-based violence.

A late night coffee-house will take place in the Women's Center, at the conclusion of the main event, for those who wish to share in a smaller and more intimate setting.
