  • 2/21 PCUC Presents: Challenging Social Issues

    The Pakistani Community at UConn brings to you, its FIRST ever Social Justice Event, presenting Jibran Nasir; a Pakistani civil liberty activist, and lawyer, who will be flying in from Pakistan to speak on the topic of ‘Rising Extremism and Countering Intolerance’ in Pakistani Society. 

    Jibran Nasir is regularly found engaging the youth on topics of extremism and social taboos and has spoken at a total of 40 national and international Universities such as LUMS, IBA, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia etc. He was noted by Foreign Policy Magazine amongst the three Pakistanis making considerable effort against sectarian violence. 

    PCUC is very exciting to start its first series of talks and discussions of social issues that penetrate our society, and empower to youth to be able to counter these problems.

    The Program will be held in Alumni Center 2384 Alumni Drive, Unit 3053 (Storrs, CT 06269-3053). Guests are requested to arrive by 6:30pm as the talk will begin promptly at 7:00pm, followed by a discussion and Q/A session with Jibran Nasir.
