  • Free Passports for Undergraduate Students

This past September UConn hosted a Passport Caravan in collaboration with a study abroad provider called CIEE. This is a program that CIEE funds to give students free passports if they do not have one (nor had one previously). The Caravan was a great success – we gave away 75 free passports to UConn students – so we are following up with another Caravan this spring semester. We will have another 75 passports to give away to  students in hopes of encouraging them to take advantage of an international experience while at UConn!

ENTER FOR A FREE PASSPORT here by February 10, 2017. Recipients will be selected at random if more than 75 sign up. Please note: Recipients must be undergraduate students, first-time passport holders (no renewals), and must also be U.S. citizens. If selected, students will receive correspondence regarding the passport application and supporting materials, and will have access to sign up for a 15 minute appointment with a passport agent on March 1 in the Student Union to drop their applications off. We will notify students if they have been selected for a free passport by February 15.

Here is a little more background on the event and on the Generation Study Abroad initiative, which this event is a function of.
