The UConn Indian Students Association proudly presents our second social justice event, "Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers". This event is the first of its kind with ISA, whose goal is to raise awareness of collective violence and human rights violations that have greatly impacted Asian Countries and in turn affect Asian Americans. It’s time for us to break the silence and come together to #BridgeTheDivide.
Featuring Guest Speaker Cathy Schlund-Vials, Director of the Asian American Studies Institute, who will be discussing the various challenges to unity that present themselves to Asian and Asian American communities who have experienced significant challenges, particularly in the face of violence and division, and what positive steps have been taken.
