WAIM is a large clothing and furniture bank located in nearby Willimantic. WAIM supports over 5,000 people in the community each year by providing clothing, furniture, financial assistance, and other basic necessities. On November 28th and 29th, Alpha Phi Omega will be collecting donations to help WAIM help others this winter. We will be accepting gently used coats and other winter clothing. In addition to collecting donations, we will also be selling baked goods to raise money for WAIM's energy assistance fund. Stop by our table in the Student Union on Monday, November 28th and Tuesday, November 29th between 11 am and 5pm to drop off donations or to buy a baked good (or maybe several). If you are unable to make it to the union during these times, feel free to contact Maggie at uconn.co.waim@gmail.com to arrange a donation pickup at any point during the week of Monday, November 28th - Friday, December 2nd.
Make sure to check your closets at home and ask family and friends for donations while you are home for Thanksgiving break! Each coat you donate will keep someone warm this winter.
