University of Connecticut Wind Ensembles presented by the Department of Music. Jeffery H. Renshaw, conductor. 8 p.m., von der Mehden Recital Hall.
On October 13th, come to von der Mehden Recital Hall to witness the performance of two fantastic concert pieces. First, there will be a performance of Alex Shapiro’s Immersion, a sonic journey into a private, aquatic realm. After a short intermission, the ensemble will return with John Mackey’s Wine-Dark Sea, an orchestral interpretation of the tale of Odysseus from Homer’s Odyssey. The performance will be held at the von der Mehden Recital Hall, 175 Coventry Rd., Storrs on October 13th. General admission is $10. Students and children are free. Plenty of free, well-lit parking across the street.
