  • Washington DC Alternative Spring BreakTrip

This week long trip to Washington D.C., focused on Homelessness, Urban Poverty and Political Action, will include direct service and emphasize education and advocacy. In past years, we have worked with organizations focusing on issues related to urban poverty, including food security, affordable housing, legal services, and education. Possible community partners include the Father McKenna Center, Martha’s Table, Kid Power, the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, and the Capitol Area Food Bank.  Additionally, participants may have the opportunity to meet with a political leader to better understand advocacy and political action.

Trip Size: 12 participants, 1 student trip director, 1 staff
Participant Cost: $240 (USG may fund 50% if eligible)
