During this week long alternative break, participants will be staying at the Mullens Opportunity Center and working with the Friends of Milam Creek to support the specific community of Mullens, West Virginia to help “alleviate the root causes of poverty in West Virginia’s southern coalfields”. This trip's focus will be on Rural Poverty while also focusing on environmental conservation and the coal industry's impact on the area. Service may include home repair, community projects, and youth development.
