New Director for Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships

Enrichment Programs is pleased to announce that, following a successful national search, Dr. Vincent G. Moscardelli has accepted the position of Director of the Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships (ONS&F), effective September 2, 2016.

Dr. Moscardelli is a political scientist (Ph.D. Emory University) whose research and teaching interests include the U.S. Congress, elections, and political leadership.  A former American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow, his current research projects investigate the effects of scandals in congressional elections and the politics of congressional primaries. The latter project is supported by a grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.

Prior to joining ONS&F, Dr. Moscardelli held faculty appointments at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and the University of Connecticut.  He brings with him over 15 years of experience in the classroom and on the “front lines” of enrichment programs and advising, having served as a departmental honors coordinator, departmental internship coordinator, and faculty advisor to student organizations.  While at UMASS, he received national recognition for his work with political science honors students, being named “Best Chapter Advisor” by Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society.

Please join Enrichment Programs in welcoming Dr. Moscardelli (vin.moscardelli@uconn.edu) to this new leadership position.

The Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships advises, mentors, promotes, and helps prepare high achieving undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Connecticut who are competing for prestigious national and international scholarships and fellowships.
