  • 11/11 Jacqueline Osherow to Read

Join us for a night of poetry!

The reading will take place at 6:00 pm in the UConn Storrs Center Co-op at 1 Royce Circle.

In addition to Ultimatum from Paradise, Osherow is the author of several other books, including Hoopoe’s Crown (2005) and With a Moon in Transit (1996). Her debut collection Looking for Angels in New York (1988) was chosen for the Contemporary Poetry Series. Employing traditional forms in witty new ways, Osherow’s poems often trace aspects of Jewish history and contemporary culture, family relations, and the pleasures of visual arts and language.

Osherow’s poems are widely praised.  Her work is, as scholar Richard Howard says, “bespoken from decades of fascination.” In his words, Ultimatum from Paradise “is a book of mindfully made wonders.”
