Volunteer Opportunities

  • Birmingham, AL Winter Break Trip

Come work with Community Outreach and join an incredible group of people during this year's winter break! This weeklong relief trip will focus on urban poverty and civil rights in the city of Birmingham, Alabama. We will be serving the local community in various areas of need. Participants will explore the roots of urban poverty, and how it affects community members of many different backgrounds. This will in turn help students explore their identities and roles as community members here at UConn. The trip will be hosting members of the Human Rights in Action and Public Health Learning Communities, and will be open to all members of the UConn student body as well.

The application deadline for Learning Community Members is September 30th, 2015.

The application deadline for all other UConn students is October 7th, 2015.

Applications will be available online at http://communityoutreach.uconn.edu/alt-break-trips/

We will be holding information sessions on Thursday, September 24 at 7:00pm Laurel Hall room 108.
