“Farm to Table through Time” seeks to put the local food movement into an historical context to gauge where it might be heading. The event invites regional scholars to explore how food production—the most mundane and quotidian of human activities—played fundamental, but often overlooked roles in past peoples’ decision-making. Additionally, we will ask contemporary producers and restaurateurs to explore how the dramatic interest in localizing food production may similarly shape the region’s future.
