  • 9/24 National Council of Negro Women Informational

The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) at UConn is excited to begin its first semester as a UConn RSO. As an organization created to uplift women of African descent as they support their communities and families, NCNW is a much needed organization at this  university. Also, given the growing #BLACKLIVESMATTER movement and the unfortunate condition of the race relations, inclusion, and diversity here on campus, there needs to be change and more action at UConn.

NCNW has grown into becoming a national organization of national organizations with affiliates like the illustrious Divine 9 sororities (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.) as well as the Links Inc., the National Bar Association, Women Lawyers, National Black Nurses Association, Inc., Auxiliary to the National Medical Association, Auxiliary, National Dental Association, and about 30 others. NCNW is an organization about social justice, women empowerment, mentorship, healthy lifestyles, and about upliftment. If you are a woman of vision and action, the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. at UConn is for you.
