Student Organization Events & Information

  • Run for Senate

Welcome to all new and returning Huskies! UConn’s Undergraduate Student Government (USG) is making some exciting changes this year to bolster student representation and organizational efficiency; and we want you to be a part of it.

UConn’s USG gives elected student senators a voice and a vote in managing the organization’s $1M+ operating budget for student organizations and programs through legislation and debate. Through five USG Committees, senators also have the opportunity to represent students to the UConn administration and the CT state legislature, develop programs and initiatives to enhance student life on campus, and create forums for students to engage in important, challenging conversations. All are welcome.

Election packets with more information and candidacy materials can now be picked up in the USG office in Student Union Room 219 and are due by noon on Friday, September 11. Students who choose not to run or find their prospective seat filled can, at any time, still provide invaluable voice and representation in the USG by participating as a general member in our committee work, which can be found on our website: usg.uconn.edu.

Being a student leader is always a learning experience, and UConn’s freshman join the university with all sorts of bright new ideas the student body could certainly benefit from. Above all, we also ask you to get out the vote in our fall elections coming up September 15-17 at vote.uconn.edu!All of your questions and concerns can be directed to EOC@usg.uconn.edu, or stop in to the USG office at SU219 to pick up an election packet and talk to other senators and committee members. We’d be happy to have you!
