Husky Quest aims to provide an easier way for incoming study abroad and exchange students to meet UConn students so that they have a better more welcoming and comfortable experience while away from home. It also gives UConn students the chance to meet students from other regions of the world and to help the exchange students assimilate into campus life and American culture. The primary intention of the group is to organize trips to give the exchange student more options and more affordable ways to explore the region.
We are currently looking for a Secretary and 2 Event Co-Ordinators for the fall and spring semester! No previous experience needed. Secretary & 2 EVC Positions, we generally meet once a week, and club meetings are bi-weekly. During club meetings, we like to play games, i.e. quizzes and other international games. We also plan events for the upcoming weeks.
HuskyQuest has successfully run a number of different events during the Fall Semester, such as trips to the BIG E, Providence Place Mall, Apple Picking, Bonfire Night, and Thanksgiving Exchange program. We have also taken part in the International Student Orientation, WorldFest, and we collaborate very closely with the UCONN study abroad office, hoping to expand our influence on campus as we are relatively new. HuskyQuest coordination is not time consuming, however please be prepared to set aside at least 2 hours a week! We generally take turns on who is running what trip, so that there is equal distribution of work amongst the officers.
