The H. Fred Simons African American Cultural Center invites you to join us at our annual Kwanzaa Celebration. The name comes from the Swahili phrase "matunda ya kwanza," which means "first fruits of the harvest." We will be celebrating our Community, Family & Culture here at the University Of Connecticut. Come and be enlightened about Kwanzaa's principles & purposes, alongside a candle lighting ceremony, entertainment, and dinner.
