GALLERY TALK by Dr. Christopher Clark, Professor of History, UConn
Dr. Clark's talk ties in with the Benton exhibition Land-Grant Landscapes: Pre-1950 American Landscapes from the Benton Collection. As the State Art Museum on the campus of one of the first land-grant universities established by the Morrill Act of 1862, the Benton is uniquely situated to present an exhibition of works that consider changing ideologies of land ownership and land function in America during the era of industrialization and urbanization. Artists of the Hudson River School, American Impressionism, and the Ashcan School are represented.
Museum hours: Tuesday through Friday, 10 to 4:30 / Saturday and Sunday 1 to 4:30
