    Dr. Sara Harkness

     

    Meeting the Challenges for Child Development in the New Millennium: A Global Perspective

     

    Sara Harkness is the Director of the Center for the Study of Culture, Health and Human Development, University of Connecticut.  A Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, she also holds faculty appointments in the departments of Pediatrics and Public Health at the UConn Medical School.  In 2012-2013 she was a Jefferson Science Fellow, U.S. Department of State/USAID. 

     

    Dr. Harkness will discuss challenges to healthy child development worldwide, and how the international community is working to meet these challenges.

     

    This presentation is the fourth and final event of a four-part panel and lecture series during UConn’s recognition of the 20th anniversary of the International Year of the Family.

     

    Coordinated by the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, co-sponsors include the Human Rights Institute, Global Affairs, the School of Social Work, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the Office of the Provost.
