Artist Talk: "But where's my real Camera?"

“But where’s my real camera?” addresses the role of technology in making art. Presenting work from the landscape of Hadrian’s Wall, Professors Dancy, DiCapua, Pritchard and Thorpe discuss the role of iPhone photography in their collaborative photography project Like a Whisper: Time on the Land, where they expressively document marks on the landscape of Ancient Rome in northern England. They characterize their process as call and response, an inventive process where their collective experience, their shared finding is greater than any individual’s seeing.
