    Open AUDITIONS - Seeking:  ACTORS and DANCERS

    For a staged reading of a play based on the drama JAGO SHUNDOR CHIRO KISHOR, written in Bengali by the National Poet of Bangladesh KAZI NAZRUL ISLAM and translated by Dr. Gulshan Ara Kazi

    In rebellion of British rule in India,  Nazrul used his powerful writing and vocabulary skills in poems, songs and plays to inspire the youth of India to “dream high, be courageous and explorative and find ways to build a world of beauty.”  This play,  O the ever beautiful jubilant youth arise and take charge, depicts the explorative minds of youth, their wishful thinking to do good, and the basic human challenges of dealing with superstition, fear and greed.

    DATE   =   Thursday Oct 2  &  Friday, Oct 3, 2014

    TIME   =   6—10 pm

    WHERE   =   Asian American Cultural Center—Student Union 428

    Looking For = 6 MALES & 4 FEMALES, and 6 Dancers

    Audition materials will be provided.

    NOTE - All Cast Members must commit to a two-week rehearsal schedule of Monday thru Friday 6 to 10 pm, from 10/6/14 thru 10/17/14, with the performance on Sat 10/18/14, at the Nafe Katter Theatre.

    This is a joint presentation by UConn's Asian American Cultural Center and the Theatre Studies Dept/School of Fine Arts, under the direction of Prof. Michael Bradford.
