The UConn Police Department will be conducting sobriety checkpoints on the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs. The checkpoints will be in operation during the evening hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday April 24,-26 2014 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.
The checkpoints will be conducted to apprehend intoxicated drivers, identify seatbelt violations and other related violations of the motor vehicle statutes. Operators will be briefly stopped for observations of the above named violations and may be subject to delays associated with the checkpoints.
These checkpoints are part of the continuing effort by the UConn Police Department to take drunk drivers off the highways of Connecticut.
