    This month's speaker:
    Katherine Coughlin (B.S. Mechanical Engineering, ’05)

    Katherine Coughlin is a Design Manager with GE Energy Management. In this capacity, she leads a design team developing a new industrial circuit breaker to serve the global market. Mrs. Coughlin began her career with General Electric on the Edison Engineering Leadership Development program. After graduation from the program, Katherine took on a Lead Design Engineer role, leading the Quality function for two industrial circuit breaker plants in Puerto Rico from a technology perspective. Contributing as the voice of technology for LEAN and quality workouts in both plants while driving the continuous improvement of all products through product life planning, design project execution, and generating customer feedback on product quality. At UConn, she served as Society of Women Engineers (SWE) President (2004-2005) and Fundraising Chair (2002-2003). Mrs. Coughlin earned an M.S. in Management, Technology and Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (2009).
