    OVERVIEW 
    The student philanthropy marketing manager (SPMM) will work with the Associate Director of Annual Giving to strategically market the student giving campaign including but not limited to Student Philanthropy Association (SPA) initiatives, fundraising events and workshops, student affairs and young alumni programs. This position will assist in developing and managing marketing initiatives for these programs. The SPMM has the opportunity to promote student giving at UConn using multi-media technology, social networking and more.

     QUALIFICATIONS
    The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualities:

    • Microsoft Office and Publisher, Photoshop or other design software preferred.
    • Proficiency in social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram
    • Detail-Oriented and Creative
    • The ability to work independently given departmental policies and guidelines
    • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Be punctual and dependable
    • An interest and respect for the unique multicultural environment

     JOB DUTIES:

    • Develop an understanding of the fundraising philosophy and services provided at UConn.
    • Attend weekly meetings with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving to discuss strategy, ideas, provide project feedback, etc.
    • Carryout marketing plans for SPA signature events.
      • This may include reservation requests, proposals for purchases, poster design/printing, creating advertisements and contests, and more.
      • Event examples: Philanthropy Day, Ignite Crowdfunding Competition, Graduation Fair
    • Maintain HuskyDrive social media accounts and engage audience on a daily basis.
    • Regularly submit student philanthropy updates to University, Foundation, and social networks.
    • Attendance and participation at Student Philanthropy Association Meetings is encouraged.
    • Other support as requested.

    TIME AND COMPENSATION

    • 5 –10 hours maximum weekly
    • $10.00/Hour
