  • OSSA name change to Dean of Students

Effective May 12, 2014, the Office of Student Services and Advocacy will be renamed the Dean of Students Office.  The staff in the Dean of Students Office will continue to provide students and their families with help to answer questions related to life decisions and/or navigating the University system.  Please update you records to reflect this change.  The new web address will be http://www.dos.uconn.edu/ and the office email address will be dos@uconn.edu.

This name change is as a result of the creation of the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students (AVP/DOS) position reporting directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs and serving as second in command of the Division of Student Affairs.  The AVP/DOS will provide leadership to enhance the student experience by providing services that promote the personal development, health and wellbeing, and academic success of all undergraduate students at the University of Connecticut.  The AVP/DOS will work with all campus units to maintain a positive learning environment and direct the administrative processes in the Dean of Students Office that respond to the needs of students encountering personal or academic problems.  The search for the AVP/DOS is currently underway and an opportunity to meet with finalists for the position will be communicated to the University community at a later date.
