NEED A PLACE TO SHOWCASE YOUR WORK? WANT TO CREATE ART THAT MEANS SOMETHING? THEN YOU SHOULD SUBMIT YOUR ART TO S.H.A.P.E.'s TRUE BEAUTY SPRING ART SHOW!!!
Students Helping Achieve Positive Esteem (S.H.A.P.E.) is a peer education group aiming to increase positive body image, self-esteem and create awareness about eating disorders. For the spring semester, we will be hosting an art exhibit from 4/7/2014-4/18/2014 in the Student Union Art Gallery. We are looking for artists who want to showcase their work in the art show. Our theme focuses on True Beauty, based on the Dove Real Beauty Sketch commercial. The artist is expected to submit a piece of art of any form (sketches, drawing, painting, video, sculpture, photography, etc.) that represents the meaning of True Beauty to the artist.
Along with the piece of art, artists are required to write 100-150 words explaining how their art work is relevant to our theme. Artists' descriptions will be posted next to their art work. All entries must be registered by emailing your name, your e-mail and your phone number to warrier.jeansimon@uconn.edu. You will then be contacted with details pertaining to the art show.
