    Marketing/Communications Assistant

    Job DescriptionThe Center for Career Development is seeking an outstanding student to aid in strategic management and development of the department's communication efforts. The hired communications assistant will work with their supervisor to create monthly newsletters for the department, coordinate outgoing electronic communications, analyze data for effectiveness, and create benchmarks of other leading institutions. He or she will also attend weekly meetings with supervisor to discuss the progress and upcoming events.
    Job RequirementsThe qualified candidate will be a UConn student in good standing who has completed at least 24 credit hours; be able to work 10 hours a week during both the fall and spring semesters, demonstrate excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, be able to work independently, take initiative, and deal with ambiguity; demonstrate attributes of a positive role model (enthusiasm, positive attitude, adhere to rules and regulations); and maintain a high level of professionalism. Job requirements include: • Monthly creation of newsletters from the department for each of the schools and colleges • Assisting the liaisons in generating content relevant to each student population • Assisting the creative team with copy and examples • Strong copywriting skills • Strong grammar and spelling • Develop Career Development articles, with assistance from supervisor for newsletters and the website • Regularly check and communicate through the provided work email • Other duties as assigned

    Social Media Assistant

    Job DescriptionThe Center for Career Development is seeking an outstanding student to aid in strategic management and marketing of the department's social media platforms. The hired social media assistant will work with their supervisor to create a timeline of marketing tactics providing valuable information on the department's social media posts, coordinate outgoing electronic communications, analyze data for effectiveness, and create benchmaks of other leading institutions. He or she will also attend weekly meetings with supervisor to discuss the progress and upcoming events.

Job requirements include: • Assisting in collaboration with supervisor to create weekly posts for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn • Assisting in the moderation of community interaction • Working with supervisor to brainstorm new ideas for content • Supporting the creative team with examples, ideas and copy • Understand and enforce proper usage of brand voice • Research industry and brand relevant topics • Monitor social media successes of competitive and relevant institutions • Monthly reports on social media trends, tools, emerging platforms, and internet culture • Other duties as assigned
