PERSEPOLIS: WORD & IMAGE is closing at 4:30 this Sunday.
If you've been meaning to come see it before heading off to Spring Break, the clock is ticking!
Inspired by both the format and content of Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi's graphic novel / coming-of-age memoir and the 2014 UConn Reads book selection, this exhibition draws from the museum's permanent collection to present some of the ways that text and art have functioned historically.
The exhibition also features works on loan from contemporary Iranian artists Pouran Jinchi, Shirin Neshat, Afarin Rahmanifar, and Hadieh Shafie -- artists for whom text is intrinsic to their practice.
