  • 3/7 Connecticut Dreamers 1st Annual Conference

    March 7th, 2014 | 8:00AM - 6:00PM | Student Union Rm. 438 (PRLACC)

Every year 65,000 dreamers graduate high school with unique challenges--how to go to college with their peers, when they arrived in the U.S. as children without proper documentation? How to navigate the application process, financial aid, work, the fear of being kicked out of school or even deported for your love of learning? What can we do to empower all high school graduates to achieve a better life and change the way America thinks about all its children?

Students Without Borders, in collaboration with WRAPP, SUBOG, and USG, is excited to provide a safe space for Connecticut dreamers and allies to come together and learn more about how to advocate for themselves and others.  The objective for this event is to provide participants an opportunity to educate themselves on state and federal legislature, share personal stories, and learn how to advocate for undocumented rights.

Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.  Capacity is 65 participants.

Co-Sponsored by Puerto Rican/Latin American Cultural Center and El Instituto
