In Memoriam

  • Passing of Student Andry Evangelista

The University grieves the loss of a valued member of our community. Andry Evangelista passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2020.  A junior from Waterbury, Connecticut, Andry was studying Exercise Science in the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources.

Andry was a very involved student with connections to the Public Health House, the Learning Community Council, the Learning Community Executive Council and the Club Track and Field Team. This past March Andry was scheduled to participate in an Alt Break service-learning trip to Philadelphia. He represented the best of UConn and his loss will be difficult to process.

For those wishing to pay their respect to Andry’s family, calling hours will be on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 9:30am-11:45am followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd, Waterbury, CT 06705. Condolences to the Evangelista family can be sent to the Dean of Students Office, 233 Glenbrook Road, Unit-4062, Storrs, Connecticut 06269-4062.
