The UConn Marching Band is the largest student organization on campus with almost 300 members across over 100 majors. Although the UCMB will not operate in its traditional form as a performing unit in 2020, we want all potential members to enroll in the Marching Band course (MUSI 1108). This primarily remote-learning course will provide members with opportunities to meet each other and begin to form friendships, become part of the UCMB team, learn traditional repertoire and new music, and many more experiences. While it certainly won’t be the traditional marching band experience, we believe it is still likely to be the BEST UConn experience a student may have this semester!
This is the perfect year to TRY the Marching Band. Without the traditional performance component there are some real advantages:
We are welcoming musicians in every section of the 2020 UCMB, regardless of marching experience. UConn students from branch campuses are encouraged to join this year because they can participate remotely and anticipate becoming a member when they come to the Storrs campus.
Are you interested? Fill out our 2020 Membership Application and don’t forget to enroll in MUSI 1108-001 (Grad Level: MUSI 5305-001).
Still not sure about joining the UCMB? We’d love to talk to you! Email us (see below) or leave a message at 860-486-2383 with any questions.
