    • Are quick learners

    • Are flexible, willing to work around technical difficulties and late articles

    • Most importantly, we want employees who are looking to gain something from the job, and develop their own skills

Copy editors work one night a week (Sun - Thurs) from either 5–9 p.m. or 8 p.m.–midnight. the late shift may go later depending on when stories are submitted and when designers finish pages. Some shifts may last as late as 1 a.m., although this is rare.

In addition to weekly shifts we hold monthly meetings at 4:30 p.m. on Sundays to discuss improvements and changes, and learn new skills. Beginning copy editors are also required to attend a training session the weekend before classes begin in the fall.

TO APPLY, email managingeditor@dailycampus.com with an unofficial transcript, and request a copy editing application quiz. This quiz tests your knowledge of AP style, journalistic writing, and grammar, and asks why you are interested in the position. It takes roughly 45 minutes to complete. Use the subject line COPY EDITING for a quicker response. Applications should be submitted by May 2.
