What is AMP?
The Asian/Asian American Mentoring Program (AMP) is an award-winning peer education program that assists incoming Asian/Asian American students to adapt to their new college environment. New students are paired with continuing students who serve as mentors and resources throughout the year. AMP also provides a welcoming space for those looking to have ample opportunities open up to them, academically and personally.
As a mentor, you are expected to:
- Be a full-time undergraduate student with a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.9 (in accordance with the student leadership position guidelines from Student Activities); and has been at the Storrs Campus for at least one year.
- Maintain regular contact with mentees
- Enroll in a 3-credit course, "AASI 3995/INTD 3998: The Asian American Experience."
- Attendance of training, retreat, and other development events
