Audition to play in one of the UConn jazz ensembles! Placement auditions will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Thursday, Jan. 23rd, between 10am and 4pm. Sign up for an audition time slot using this link.
Auditions are open to saxophonists, trumpeters, trombonists, pianists, bassists and drummers with high school band experience.
The 10-minute auditions will consist of sightreading, playing a piece of your choice (in any style), and the option to improvise on a 12 bar blues.
Auditions will take place on the basement practice room level of the UConn Music Building. The "jazz room" is located at the end of the hallway.
Successful auditionees will be placed in one of the two big bands which rehearse twice per week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 - 3:45 pm. Jazz Ensembles are a one credit course.
