  • UConn Economics Society Officer Recruitment

    Dear UConn Economics Majors,

    UConn Economics Society is a student led and run organization within the Economics Department that seeks to educate students on topical issues and democratize access to resources at UConn for undergraduates and graduates alike. Currently UConn Economics Society is undergoing some major changes in our organization, programming, and leadership structure and we would like you to be a part of our transformation. Included in this email is a survey, the results from which we will use to guide our direction going forward. We hope that you will take the time to fill it out.

    We are also recruiting for new leadership positions within Economics Eociety. By the beginning of the spring semester 2020 we hope to bring on a Membership Chair, Recruitment Chair, a Social Media and Marketing Coordinator, an Alumni Relations Chair, and a Departmental Liaison. Please see position duties and descriptions below.

     Membership Chair: 

    Creates and manages incentives for membership. Helps Secretary with roster and attendance.

    Recruitment Chair: 

    Oversees recruitment and student outreach efforts. Manages involvement fair schedule. Works with Membership Chair to recruit and retain members.

    Social Media and Marketing Coordinator:

    Manages social media pages, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. Helps Secretary with weekly emails. Directs marketing efforts and works with Recruitment Chair.

    Alumni Relations Chair:

    Outreach to former and soon-to-be UConn Economics Graduates. Seeks to create a community of contacts for panel discussions, speaker events, and reunions. Will create and manage an alumni Facebook page.

     Departmental Liaison:

    Manages organization’s relationship with the UConn Economics Department. Meets with faculty advisor (Professor Prakash) regularly. Keeps club members informed on news and events going on in the department.
