Dear UConn Community,
LANGSA, the Languages Graduate Student Association, would like to invite you to our annual film festival! This year, we will be celebrating the LCL Department’s underrepresented languages by putting the spotlight on films in languages of our department that you might not know we have, including Korean, Farsi, Arabic, Hebrew, and Portuguese. This is a great opportunity to explore international cinema in languages you might not be (or perhaps are!) familiar with. All are welcome! Even if you don’t speak any of these languages, there will be English subtitles on all of them.
Our festival will be taking place Monday –Friday, November 11–15 at 7pm in the Homer Babbidge Library, room 2119A (Video Theater 2).
Snacks, pizza, and refreshments will be provided!

- Thursday, 11/14 – Where Is the Friend’s Home?(Farsi)
While doing his homework, Ahmed, an 8-year old boy, realizes he took his classmate’s notebook by mistake. Knowing that his classmate will probably be expelled unless he turns it in the next day, he searches for his classmate’s home in a neighboring village of Iran.
We would love to see you for 1 night or the whole week of the LANGSA film festival! Drop by November 11–15 at 7pm in the Homer Babbidge Library, room 2119A (Video Theater 2) for some pizza, snacks, and international cinema.
